Ruto was speaking on Friday during the unveiling of the 70th anniversary of the Safari Rally and the launch of Sports and Creative Economic Plan-Talanta Hela.
President William Ruto has revealed that Sports CS Ababu Namwamba preferred to be appointed to another docket.
Ruto, however, said he did not honor Namwamba's wish and it's now clear he made the right decision appointing him the CS for sports due to his energy in reviving sports in the country.
"When it was time to appoint Cabinet, Ababu Namwamba wanted me to appoint him to another ministry. I will not tell you which one," Ruto said.
"I told him no, I know my team better."

At the same time Ruto recounted on their engagement leading to Namwamba resignation as Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary in the Uhuru Kenyetta regime. "One morning he came and told me he wanted to resign. I asked him why? He said, 'because I want to support you and I know it is going to be difficult for me to support you and keep the job I have',"
